January& February Sermon Series

Throughout Scripture, God’s people are often reminded to not forget. In times of hardship, exile, and despair, prophets and priests call upon them to remember the God who has delivered them and will deliver them again. In times of ease and comforts, prophets call upon the people to not forget the poor and the marginalized. In the United Methodist tradition, we practice services to remember our baptism so that we don’t forget who we are and whose we are. Right now, as the United Methodist Church is facing a crossroads about who we are and who we will be as a denomination with the special General Conference coming up in February, it is important that we at First Church don’t forget who we are and what God has called us to.
