CHILDREN
The City Kids Ministry of First Church provides a safe and fun environment for children to begin asking questions to explore their faith. Children will learn foundational Bible stories, engage in community, practice worship, and serve together as full members of the body of Christ.
We are a church for all children of Birmingham. Because we are a downtown church, our kids live in all neighborhoods of Birmingham – from the city to the suburbs.
New to First Church? You can find all of our nursery classrooms and kid spaces in the Education Building. The Elementary Children’s wing is upstairs in that same building. We are hosting events in-person as safely as possible by choosing outdoor meeting spaces or larger indoor gathering spaces.
First Church is a Safe Sanctuary Church
We practice the guidelines set forth by the United Methodist Church Safe Sanctuaries Policy. As a Christian community of faith, we pledge to conduct the ministry of the gospel in ways that assure the safety and spiritual growth of all children, youth and vulnerable adults and those who minister to them.
Background Screening Instructions for Volunteers:
All individuals who wish to volunteer with First Church Birmingham are required to undergo a criminal background check before serving with any children. Please email Ashley at ashley@firstchurchbhm.com for more information.
