Music is an integral part of worship at First Church. We value all of the many ways that instruments and voices come together to enhance each of our unique services.

“The believer who sings prays twice.” – attributed to St. Augustine

St. Augustine’s statement underlines the power of music as a force that goes beyond what words alone can convey. Reading the words of a song might be wonderful, but singing them brings out depths of meaning and hidden emotions not touched by the words alone.

So it is in worship at First Church, where both vocal and instrumental music provide yet another way for us to be in community both with God and with one another.
