A Place To Belong

Cultivating an inclusive community for you to be your authentic self.

At First Church, we believe you belong before you ever walk in our doors. Our Student Ministry believes in providing a safe and inclusive community for students to grow spiritually, to feel love and to discover who God created them to become in the world.

We are a blended group of 6th-12th graders who live all over the surrounding area. We currently attend over 30 different schools, including being homeschooled. We are activists, allies, athletes, artists, environmentalists, gamers, leaders, LGBTQ+, musicians, and so much more. Everyone is welcome and has a place within our community.

What We Want Students To Know

You are welcome exactly as you are, we want you to be your authentic self.
We value your whole identity and believe that everyone is created in love, by love, and for love.
Doubts and questions are welcome; they don’t make you a “bad” person.
Mental health, social justice, and service are all important aspects of our ministry.
Not everything to do with church is always super serious – we will always play games, have fun and visit amazing places.
We care about your whole life, not just when you show up for church things.

What Will We Do When We Meet?

During a typical gathering we will play a few games, our current favorite is Throw Throw Burrito, but we try to mix up the type of games we play. We will have a lesson and then breakup into small groups to discuss how the lesson applies to our lives.

What Will We Learn?

We discuss and talk about a wide range of topics including faith, spirituality, the Bible, how to apply our faith to our everyday life, mental health, social justice, and more.

Are There Other Students My Age?

Our ministry is for 6th-12th graders. Each week we always have a mix of both middle school and high school students. There will be someone for you to hang out with during our gathering.

What Types Of Fun Things Will We Do?

We strive to have a fun activity at least once a month. These activities include: Top Golf, Escape Rooms, trips to the movies, game nights, jump parks, holiday parties, and more.
